Category Specialist – Construction & Facilities Management.

We are looking for a Category Specialist/Lead Construction Category Manager who must have experience of setting up complex public sector construction frameworks servicing to values of spend over £200m. Do you fit the bill?

We are looking for an exceptional MCIPS qualified professional with deep category expertise in construction or facilities management to support one of our key public sector clients.

We have developed a multi-year procurement strategy for this client to enable them to spend multiple hundred of millions across their asset portfolio. We are now looking for an outstanding individual to support the execution of this strategy.

You should have a complete understanding and experience of market engagement, routes to market – including the development of internal frameworks – and stakeholder management.

It is essential that you have:

  • Experience working in a procurement team and have knowledge of contract and supplier management processes.
  • Strong and recent knowledge across the construction and facilities management procurement category.
  • A track record in creating and executing category management strategies, with ability to lead negotiations and deliver cost savings.
  • Experience of dealing with outsourcing agreements and managing these relationships from a commercial and contractual perspective.
  • Advanced IT literacy skills and an experienced user of supply chain tools such as Ariba, Jaggear, Bravo, Atamis or Coupa.
  • Experience of creating and developing meaningful procurement solutions for customers.
  • Excellent relationship building and client management skills.

It is also a plus if you:

  • Hold a CIPS accreditation or are working towards CIPS qualification.
  • Have project and programme management professional qualifications, e.g., Agile, Prince2 or equivalent.

This is a hybrid working role; ideally you will be commutable to London for client meetings and could make it to our Northamptonshire office a day or two per week (but we can be flexible on this).

Salary: up to £60,000
